The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) today announced that Michael Davenport has been named the new executive director of the Auto/Steel Partnership (A/SP).
AISI announced that John Catterall has been named vice president, automotive program, for AISI effective March 1.
In a recent Wards survey, 44% of engineers and designers said that in 10 years, vehicle materials and architectures will be “totally different" than they are today.
Automotive bodies include increasing amounts of higher-strength steels and aluminum alloys to address the challenges of improving fuel economy and safety while reducing tailpipe emissions.
It's good for the auto industry, good for consumers and good for our planet to see increasing awareness throughout the automotive supply chain, where a true accounting of vehicles' impact on the environment includes the total life cycle, including materials.
